Did you know that one of the best things you can do for your health and wellbeing is to connect with others in your local community? Making music together is a wonderful way to create new bonds with people, though if you've never done this before it can be a daunting prospect to sign up and put yourself out there. We're here to help.
Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra is introducing Audience Participation Choir events this year - we're calling it "Posh Karaoke", but don't worry it's going to be a very relaxed affair. For our first event we're going to train everyone to sing Handel's Hallelujah Chorus in time for our March 29th Feel Good Favourites concert.
How does Posh Karaoke work? Who can come? What experience do I need? Will there be wine?
This event is open to everyone, but under 18s do need to be supervised by a responsible adult as the workshops will take place at licenced venues. No musical experience is necessary, and our highly trained vocal coaches Kim Kirkman and Renae Suttie will have learning options ready for absolute beginners through to experienced choral singers. It's all about having fun and experiencing the joy of singing with other people.
Purchase a ticket for our Feelgood Favourites concert, book into your preferred workshop and get ready to Sing Hallelujah!
PS The rest of the concert will be pretty awesome too, more to come on that next time.
