Internationally acclaimed artist Daniel Kossov to conduct SCSO's first performance for 2025

publicity

SCSO is thrilled to announce that Daniel Kossov will be our Conductor for the upcoming “Feel Good Favourites” concert on March 29th, 7pm, at The Events Centre Caloundra.  The program includes Dvorak’s New World symphony, Warwick Adeney performing “The Lark Ascending”, and our audience singing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus with us!

Daniel recently moved to the Sunshine Coast, and many of you will have already had the pleasure of hearing one of his extraordinary solo violin performances.  A world renowned concert violinist, Daniel has performed with many of the top orchestras and worked with leading conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, and James Levine.

It’s no surprise really that he’s also an incredibly talented conductor.

Daniel has studied conducting with David Zinman, Kurt Masur, and Jorma Panula, and been awarded the prestigious Aspen Festival Conducting Fellowship.

He has conducted major orchestras in Israel, Russia, Finland, and France, as well as conducting performances at QPAC and regional tours with the QSO.  For Daniel “The Lark Ascending” holds a particular place in his heart as this was the first solo work he performed with WASO, and he’s now coming full circle in conducting it with SCSO.

We are so excited to have the opportunity to work with a conductor of Daniel’s calibre, and judging from the rehearsals so far we think this concert will be something really special for our audience.  Click the link below for tickets!
